Penang Botanical Garden

The Penang Botanical Gardens, more popularly known as 'Waterfall Garden", was established by the British way back in 1884 from an old granite quarry site. The beautiful grounds and the tranquility of the gardens have long been enjoyed by millions of visitors. It is the place of botanical conversation, education and training. The garden plays an important role in the field of horticulture and landscaping development.

Walking around the gardens, one cannot miss the Cannon Ball Tree and the large buttress roots of the Sengkuang Tree. Other strangely yet beautiful trees and flowers are also available here catching the visitors'eyes. Look out for the wildlife inhabiting the gardens. Commonly seen are the long-tailed Macaques, Dusky Leaf Monkey, Black Giant Squirrels and a myriad of insects and butterflies. Another attractions like Cactus House, Lily Pond, Aroid Walkaway, Orchidarium and many more (as shown as in garden tours photo below)  are also comprised in this Penang Botanical Garden.
