Penang Hill

Penang Hill is the state's foremost hill resort. It's original name is Flagstaff Hill, but the locals have always affectionately referred it as Penang Hill or Bukit Bendera. At about 830 meters (2750 feet) from sea level, the temperature on the hilltop is cooler than the nether land. And Penang Hills consists of several hills including Strawberry Hill, Halliburton's Hill, Government Hill, Tiger Hill, and Western Hill. The earlier mode of transport to the hill was via horse , or a system called ' doolies', where masters were carried up the hill on special sedan chair. For now, The Penang Hill Furnicular Railway was established for access to the hill, thus, the tourists and visitors can take a fantastic train ride to the uphill. They can watch a nice and beautiful scene from inside the trains on the way up to the hill.

Tourists on the top of Penang Hill can get a view of breathtaking best panorama of Georgetown, and other parts on eastern coast of Penang Island. The hill also offer interesting unique flora, fauna and tropical heritages which are waiting for the tourists to explore. Moreover, the hill also comprises some religion praying places such as mosque and Kuil (Hindu temple).
